Swedish-born Gambian forward Zakaria Sawo provided an assist for Qarabağ as they drew 3-3 with Neftçi in an entertaining Azerbaijan Premier League encounter on Saturday.
Sawo played a key role in Qarabağ’s response after Neftçi took an early lead, setting up Oleksiy Kashchuk for the equaliser in the 18th minute to make it 1-1.
The goal helped Qarabağ regain their footing in a match marked by attacking football and a series of goals from both sides.
The two Azerbaijani clubs continued to exchange goals, but neither managed to secure a decisive advantage, with the contest ending in a 3-3 draw.
The result earned both teams a point in the league fixture.
Sawo’s assist was a notable contribution to Qarabağ’s attacking display and another opportunity for the Gambian international to demonstrate his value to the Azerbaijani club.
The forward, who was born in Sweden, represents The Gambia at international level.
