Sukuta-born Gambian footballer Modou Lamin Darboe has completed a six-month loan move from Menmar Banjul United to Swedish side Östersunds IF.
The young midfielder secured the move after attracting the attention of talent scouts during a joint scouting programme organised by eBanor Sports Agency and Ballers 4 Life in November.
Darboe’s performances during the scouting exercise impressed the talent identification team, paving the way for his move to Sweden.
The six-month spell at Östersunds IF is expected to provide the Gambian youngster with valuable exposure to European football while allowing him to further develop his skills in a different competitive environment.
Darboe’s progress has also earned recognition at national level, with the midfielder recently receiving a call-up to the Gambia’s U-20 national team, the Young Scorpions.
The national team invitation further highlights his development and growing profile in Gambian football.
Darboe will now seek to make the most of his time in Sweden by gaining international experience, improving his game and continuing his development as a young footballer.
