The Gambia Police Force (GPF), in collaboration with The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), conducted joint vehicle patrols on Saturday across several communities in the Lower Niumi area of the North Bank Region as part of efforts to strengthen community safety and deter crime.
According to GPF sources, personnel from the Anti-Crime Unit Sub-Base in Barra and the GAF participated in the operation, which covered: Samba Yassin, Albreda, Barra, Essau, Mbankam, Mbollet Ba, Amdallai, Njogoon, Fass Njaga Choi, Kerr Sanyang and Bakindick Koto.
The patrol also passed through Kerr Chandeh, Touba Angalleh, Kerr Malick Sarr, Bafuloto Beach, Buniadou and Sami.
The GPF said the personnel assembled at the Anti-Crime Unit Sub-Base in Barra for an operational briefing before embarking on the patrol.
During the briefing, officers and soldiers were reminded to maintain professionalism, vigilance and discipline throughout the exercise.
The police said the joint patrol formed part of ongoing inter-agency efforts to strengthen security coordination, increase the visibility of security personnel and reassure communities across the region.
The GPF said it would continue to work with other security institutions to conduct joint patrols and community-focused operations aimed at promoting peace and public safety.
