Hosts The Gambia and Senegal both made strong starts on Sunday at the 2026 CAVB Zone II Men’s Indoor Volleyball Championship, recording straight-set victories on Matchday 1.
The Gambia closed the opening day with a commanding 3-0 win over Guinea-Bissau at the Stadium Hall in Banjul, backed by a vocal home crowd.
The hosts dominated from the opening set, producing disciplined serving, solid teamwork and consistent attacking play to secure maximum points in their first outing.
Earlier, Senegal also opened their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Cape Verde, delivering a composed and controlled performance to collect their first three points of the tournament.
The results place both The Gambia and Senegal in strong early positions as the competition continues.
