Njobo Kandeh Secures Last-Minute Win for Medina United; Fortune Edge Greater Tomorrow

Substitute Njobo Kandeh scored in the final moments to give Medina United a hard-fought 2-1 victory over TMT, while Fortune Female F.C held on to a similar scoreline against Greater Tomorrow as Week 17 of the GFF First Division League, Vista Bank-Baluwo Official Partner, kicked off on Friday.

At the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama, first-half goals from Sainey Jatta and Cherno Jobe were enough for Fortune Female F.C to secure a narrow 2-1 away win against Greater Tomorrow. Jerreh Camara pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 62nd minute, but Fortune held on for a vital victory, moving up to second place with 28 points, just one behind leaders GPA, who have a game in hand.

In Old Yundum, Medina United edged out TMT in a thrilling encounter at the Ousman Saho Football Field. Medina United opened the scoring in the 12th minute through their talisman, Paul Colley. TMT responded just before halftime, with young Alieu Saine finishing a perfect delivery from Ebrima Fofana to level the scores. Saine marked his second league goal in two games since debuting in the second round. As the match seemed destined for a draw, substitute Njobo Kandeh headed home an Ebou Sanyang corner in the dying seconds, securing a sensational league double for Medina United over TMT.

Week 17 fixtures continue on Saturday with Steve Biko FC hosting Team Rhino Football Club in Bakau, Real de Banjul FC traveling to Jarra Soma to face Hart FC, Samger taking on leaders GPA FC at the Ousman Saho Football Field, and Brikama United welcoming Hawks FC at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
