The Chief Executive Officer of  Holistic Agribusiness Solution (HAS) has partnered with GAMWORKS to promote modern farming practices among women and youth.

The agribusiness body which is under the Rural Development Organization of Balingho in Upper Badibou has rolled out training sessions in the Greater Banjul Area, Lower River, and Upper River Regions. The trainings are aimed at strengthening environmentally sound farming practices, enhance post-harvest value addition, and support climate-resilient agriculture.

Speaking to The Voice on Monday, CEO of HAS Momodou Y. Bah highlighted that the partnership with GAMWORKS was designed to provide beneficiaries with essential skills and practical knowledge for sustainable agriculture and community empowerment.

“The initiative enables service providers to conduct comprehensive capacity assessments and deliver hands-on training for participants,”  Mr. Bah said. He added that the program had already commenced practical, on-site sessions in 19 community gardens, reaching 204 participants.

The training employs interactive methods, including demonstrations, organic manure production, guided practice, observation, and group exercises.

He reaffirmed HAS’s commitment to equipping youth and women with knowledge of sustainable farming techniques, organic production, and soil management.

The program also introduces participants to effective food preservation methods to reduce post-harvest losses, improve food security, and enhance production value.

The short-term agricultural training is expected to boost local food production while promoting environmentally sustainable practices among youth and women’s associations.
