Preparations are at an advanced stage for Gambia to hold ‘The Youth Impact Summit,’ scheduled for December 27th at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Conference Center.

The main aims of the summit are geared to provide a platform for young people to exchange ideas, collaborate, and contribute to national development.

According to Ousman Haram, one of the lead organizers, the event will bring together 500 participants, including young leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from government and the private sector, under the theme “Unleashing Youth Leadership for Transformative Impact.”

He emphasized that leadership is defined by action rather than position, adding that the summit seeks to bridge the gap between young people and government institutions to foster inclusive development.

The one-day summit will feature entrepreneurship pitching sessions, panel discussions, keynote speeches, networking opportunities, and the launch of a youth magazine designed to highlight innovation and youth success stories.

Fatoumatta, another organizer, said the initiative is youth-driven and aims to empower Gambian youth to play an active role in shaping the country’s future. She underscored the importance of youth-led solutions to address local and global challenges and promote collaboration between young people and key institutions.

The event is also expected to attract international delegates from Senegal, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Ghana. Among the keynote speakers will be Anta Ababakar Ngom, a Senegalese businesswoman and politician, who is expected to share insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and regional cooperation.
