The humiliating defeat stretched Sankung Sillah’s winless run in three consecutive matches.

Babung Fatty FC recorded its 100% winning record from three successivegames in the ongoing Serekunda West Sports Development Organisation’s summer Nawettan on Tuesday, 08th October, 2024.

Ander Prierra sealed the victory for Babung Fatty in the 71st minute to subdue the struggling Sankung SillahFC.

Abdoulie Badjie, the head coach for Babung Fatty FC, stated in a post-match interview with The Voice thatthere was a pressure on them to win their third game as the encounter was a derby.

“I am very happy to emerge as winners in the contest but on the other way round, it’s a sad moment because our opponents are also from my area and they are not able to collect any point in the three games they played, meaning they are going to be relegated which is not good for them,” he stated.

Regarding his success in the summer Nawettan, Mr Badjie said they try by all means to possess the ball and dominate the proceedings as much as possible to score many goals and win.

He added that the performance shown by his boys doesn’t surprise him because that’s the way they played since last season.

“I am more concerned about the second round because we automatically know that we will pave our way through,” he stated with confidence.

Lamin Sanyang, the head coach of Sankung Sillah FC, said that they have a very big disappointment this season.

He said that they will still fight for next year as they are already relegated. “We need to fight again for next season.”

He said the mentality of his players is not strong because when they lost the first and second games, most of his players gave up.

“Many of my players left the team after these two defeats. Luckily for us, we have a junior team where we were getting some players from whom we already registered,” he pointed out during the post-match interview.

Babun Fatty FC has accumulated 9 points in three consecutive matches while Sankung Sillah FC lost three matches in a row.
