Gambian midfielder Mahmudu Bajo has won a domestic double with Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade after the club clinched the Serbian Cup in a dramatic final on Wednesday night.
Red Star Belgrade defeated FK Vojvodina 5–4 on penalties after a 2–2 draw in regulation time to secure the cup title, adding to their Serbian league championship already confirmed earlier in the season.
The Belgrade side had dominated the league campaign, finishing 15 points ahead of second-placed Vojvodina with two matches remaining.
For Bajo, the achievement marks a significant milestone in his emerging career in European football. The Gambian midfielder, still working to secure regular playing time, has been part of a squad that has delivered both major domestic trophies this season.
The domestic double is seen as another positive step in Bajo’s development at one of Serbia’s leading clubs, with Red Star Belgrade continuing their dominance of Serbian football.
