Gambian Cultural Groups Return to India for Surajkund International Crafts Mela

Gambian cultural groups have returned to India to participate in the prestigious Surajkund International Crafts Mela, showcasing the country’s rich heritage and artisanal traditions on a global stage.

The annual event, held in Surajkund, Haryana, attracts craftsmen, artists, and cultural performers from across the world. Gambian participants are expected to present traditional music, dance, and handicrafts, strengthening cultural ties between The Gambia and India.

Speaking ahead of the event, Gambian cultural representatives emphasized the importance of such platforms in promoting national identity and boosting tourism. “Our participation allows us to share Gambian culture with an international audience and build lasting friendships through art and performance,” a spokesperson said.
