The Managing Director of Africmed International Hospital, Dr. Omar Jagne, has been awarded with the prestigious Outstanding Healthcare Leadership Award by the Tech Innovation Awards (TIA).
The ceremony took place at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, on November 29, 2025.
Dr. Jagne, a respected medical professional in The Gambia and beyond, was recognized for his exceptional contributions to the health sector through the application of digital technology. This award marks his third international recognition in 2025, a notable achievement for both Africmed International Hospital and The Gambia at large.
The accolade underscores Dr. Jagne’s commitment to digital transformation, business growth, and socio-economic development across Africa. He was honored during the 9th Tech Innovation Awards, which celebrated individuals and organizations leveraging technology to drive efficiency, innovation, and inclusive growth.
The TIA is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most prestigious technology awards, often described as the “Oscars of the ICT industry.” It provides a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to share insights, network, and recognize outstanding achievements in advancing Africa’s digital economy.
Upon receiving the award, Dr. Jagne expressed gratitude to the organizers and dedicated the recognition to his staff, medical students at the University of The Gambia, and members of Ant-Doping at GNOC for their support. He also acknowledged those who nominated him, describing the award as both an honor and a motivation to continue advancing healthcare innovation in the years ahead.
