Old Hands FC Claim Victory as SWESO Nawettan Heats Up

The Africell-sponsored Serekunda West Sports Organisation (SWESO) League Cup continues to deliver thrilling action as Old Hands FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over BK Central at the Serekunda West Mini Stadium.

 

Muhammed Camara scored the decisive goal, earning Old Hands FC their first three points of the campaign in a tightly contested encounter.

 

In another narrow victory on the same pitch, Empty Land FC edged past Kawtally FC with a 1-0 win, courtesy of a first-half strike from Sheriff Nyassi.

 

Meanwhile, Manga 11 and DK United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Abubacarr Drammeh gave DK United the lead in the 28th minute, but Ousman Nyang responded with a well-taken equalizer in the 67th minute to level the score.

 

Jarintong FC also made a strong start, defeating Old Jeshwang FC 1-0 in a closely contested match. Muhammed Jobarteh’s 51st-minute goal proved to be the match-winner.

 

The final match of the round saw Team Onana overcome Junction Bi FC with a 2-1 victory in one of the most entertaining games of the week. Momodou Sillah was the star of the show,

 

scoring twice in the 20th and 49th minutes to put his side in control. Pa Modou Joof scored a late consolation for Junction Bi in stoppage time, but it was too little, too late.

 

As the SWESO Nawettan progresses, fans can expect more competitive fixtures as teams battle for supremacy in one of the most exciting grassroots football tournaments in the region.
