Fortune Football Club has officially announced the permanent transfer of their talented defender, Abdoulie Tamba, to Swedish Allsvenskan side IFK Norrköping on a four-year contract.
In a statement issued by the club, Fortune FC described the move as a historic moment for both the club and the player, marking a major milestone in Tamba’s rising football career.
Club President Assan S. Ndure expressed immense pride in Tamba’s achievement and optimism for his future in Europe.
“Abdoulie’s transfer to IFK Norrköping is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent nurtured at Fortune FC,” Ndure said. “We are immensely proud of his growth and this opportunity to showcase Gambian football on a global stage. This is not just a victory for Abdoulie, but for our club and every young player dreaming big.”
Ndure further noted that the transfer aligns with the club’s long-term vision of player development and international exposure.
“We believe Abdoulie will shine in Sweden, carrying the spirit of Fortune FC with him. This move reflects our commitment to developing world-class talent and building pathways for our players to compete at the highest levels. We wish him every success and will always support him as part of the Fortune family.”
The club highlighted that Tamba has been one of its most consistent performers over the past two seasons. During this time, he represented The Gambia U-20 in two major competitions and earned a call-up to the CHAN (African Nations Championship) team, underlining his growing stature in Gambian football.
Fortune FC concluded by thanking IFK Norrköping for their trust and belief in both the player and the club’s development philosophy:
“We extend our gratitude to IFK Norrköping for their trust in Abdoulie and in our club’s vision.”
