Phebian Ina Grant, founder of CRAWAH and one of the key facilitators, officially welcomed the participants and highlighted the purpose of the camp saying it is to unlock potential, nurture talent, and inspire leadership among adolescents and youth.

“The Comprehensive Health Education program, in partnership with CRAWAH, believes that when young people are equipped with confidence, creativity, purpose, and leadership skills, they become agents of change in their homes, schools, and society,” she said.

She outlined the camp’s core objectives, which include building self-confidence and public speaking skills, enhancing talent in drama, poetry, and storytelling, developing effective communication and persuasive speaking abilities, promoting leadership, peer mentorship, and teamwork, providing training on critical health, social, and emotional topics

She encouraged the participants to embrace challenges, celebrate their achievements, and create lasting memories during their time at the camp. Also, she expressed appreciation to Honourable Habibatou Drammeh for her visit and thanked the partners and parents for their support and trust.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE), Mr. Sonko, Principal Education Officer, commended CRAWAH for organizing the camp, describing it as a unique and valuable initiative especially for the host village, Kartong.

He reflected on the five-year activities of the Comprehensive Health Education program, noting the relevance and impact of the camp’s theme and planned activities. “Make the most of this opportunity so you can return home with new knowledge and skills,” he encouraged the participants.
