The senior officials from the Ministry of Public Service, Administrative Reforms, Policy Coordination and Delivery on Friday August 1, 2025 made a courtesy called on the ECOWAS Resident Representative in The Gambia at her office along Atlantic Road, Fajara.
The team was led by the Minister of the said Ministry mentioned above, Honorable Baboucarr Bouy who expressed his compliments to Community Resident Representative and team for their warmed welcomed accorded to him (Minister) and the team.
The objectives of the courtesy called was to explored and discuss avenues for potential ECOWAS support towards the successful implementation of the Ministry of Public Service reform program, recognizing the ECOWAS’s profound commitment to good governance and regional development.
The two leaders identified and deliberated upon further areas of collaboration where the expertise and resources of ECOWAS can converge with national objectives, particularly in strengthening public administration and service delivery.
Minister Bouy and team have the confident that such meeting with the ECOWAS Resident Representative would serve to reinforce the already strong fraternal ties between The Gambia and ECOWAS.
Speaking briefly before ECOWAS Resident Representative in The Gambia, Her Excellency, Ms. Miatta Lily French, Minister Bouy explained to ECOWAS national boss that it is his Ministry’s keen desire to foster deep collaboration between his Ministry and ECOWAS.
Hon. Bouy extended his sincere gratitude to ECOWAS for its continued partnership and support to The Gambia particularly during critical periods of the country’s national development.
“We are particularly appreciative for the significant support we have already received from the Community especially through the eGov Unit which has been instrumental in supporting the MyGov initiative we are currently undertaking with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy,” Minister informed Ms. French.
This kind of partnership Minister Bouy added, will truly underscore the ECOWAS’s profound commitment to good governance and regional development.
For her part, the ECOWAS Resident Representative in The Gambia Ms. Miatta Lily French described Minister Bouy and team visit as an important visit which she said was gear towards cementing good partnership between her office and the Ministry of Public Service.
Ms. French explained the different units within her office, adding that her office also do some administrative work for the ECOMIG troops in the country.
She assured of her office support to MoPS especially linking them with the relevant department/unit at ECOWAS Headquarters in Abuja to fund some of the Ministry’s programs and activities.
Minister Bouy shortly before the end of the visit, presented the copy of the Civil Service Reform Program Strategy 2018-2027 and other documents to Ms. French.
