Farimang Saho, President of the Confederation of Gambian Industries (CGI), has praised Bell Industry for its generous donation of a modern pavilion to the Brikama Football Stadium, calling it a major step forward for youth empowerment and community development.

Mr. Saho described the donation as a timely and impactful act of corporate citizenship. At a well-attended ceremony held on Sunday, “This pavilion is more than a structure it represents opportunity, hope, and a brighter future for Brikama’s young people,” he said.

The facility, which will serve as a training ground, meeting point, and event space, is expected to play a vital role in nurturing local football talent and offering youth a safe environment to grow and thrive.

“This comes at a crucial time when our young people need positive spaces to harness their skills and pursue their dreams,” Mr. Saho noted. He emphasized the role of the private sector in supporting national development, saying businesses like Bell Industry are showing how profit and purpose can go hand in hand.

“Bell Industry has shown that business success is best measured by the positive impact we have on society. Their example highlights the strength of cooperation between industry and community.”

The new pavilion is also seen as a lift to Brikama’s sports infrastructure and social life, with football continuing to be a key force for unity, discipline, and development in The Gambia.

Mr. Saho used the occasion to call on other companies to support and invest in youth and local communities. “Let this be a call to action,” he said. “Together, we can build a future where our young people are supported, our communities are strong, and our industries thrive alongside them.”

The Brikama community is preparing to officially open the pavilion in the coming weeks, ushering in a new era for sports and community activities in the region.
