Oyster farmers get working equipment

The Federation of Senegalo Gambia Friday donated some working equipment to the Association of Kartong Oyster farmers.

The donated working equipment received by the Kartong Oyster Farmers included 200 live jackets, 200 boots, 200 hand gloves and 20 wheelbarrows.

Ndey Awa Kah, an official of the Federation expressed the Federation’s delight over the donated equipment.

She encouraged members of the association members to share the equipment with their other fellow women that are also oyster farmers in other areas.

Anna Wada, acting director of regional integration of the Ministry of Trade applauded Federation of Senegalo Gambia for the donation while expressed that the items were from GIZ to the women oysters farmers of Kartong.

As a Ministry in charge of regional integration, especially Ecowas, She said the Ministry’s role is to support and strengthen women of Kartong who are working together with the women of Cassamance.

She further assured them of the Ministry’s commitment towards their development saying “we will continue to support these women onward.”

Representing Ambassador Foday Seck at presentation was Paul Gomez, he said “The Senegalo Gambia secretarial is here to push the initiative of the two head of states to make sure that the two countries are together, as they share the same things in common.”

He noted that the Federation welcomes other NGOs especially the Ministry of Trade to work hand in hand with them.

With all the equipment handed to the women, he said it is going to benefit their livelihood and that the federation will make sure that the beneficiaries make good use of the equipment as issued to them

“You are not the only people of Casamance and Gambia who wants all this but you are opportune to get this materials from GIZ,” he announced to them.
