Gov’t Opens Investigation into Gambian Allegedly Shot by German Police

The Gambia Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has opened an investigation into the alleged shooting of Gambian youth, Lamin Touray, by the German Police. 

The incident which happened on Saturday has sparked off a raging debate over the social media regarding the safety of Gambians in Germany. 

According to recent statement regarding the incident, the government informed the general public that The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and will provide full details in due course.

“The Gambia Government expresses concern with reports of the fatal shooting of a Gambian national in Germany. The government has received, with deep concern, reports of the shooting of a Gambian national domiciled in Germany by German Police.” 

“The Government wishes to assure the public that the life, safety and welfare of every Gambian matters,” the statement added.
