Two men stand trial over theft charges

Two men, Ousman Ceesay and Samba Camaraon Monday appeared before Principal Magistrate Isatou Mbaye Sallah at the KanifingMagistrates’ Court to answer five (5) counts of theft .

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges when the charge sheet was read out tothem.

According to the particulars of count one, Ousman Ceesay and Samba Camara in January this year at Pipeline, committed a felony therein with house breaking, burglary and stealing.

The details of count two stated that Ceesay and Camara in January this year at Pipeline, around 3am to 4am broke and entered the house of Jennifer Wray with the intention to steal.

Ceesay and Camara also stand accused of breaking and entering the house of KaramoDanso with the intention to steal around 3am to 4am.

Meanwhile, court documents showed that Ceesay and Camara in January this year, stole a Samsung smartphone mark A21 valued at D10,000, A Samsung tablet valued at D15,000.00 dalasis, A power bank valued at D1,000.00,A cross bag valued D2000.00, cash amount D2000.00, A bag valued at D400.00, Padlock with keys valued at D600.00 and a Earpod valued D1807.00 being the property of Jennifer Wray and Fedrica Coker.
The court also heard that Ceesay and Camara in January this year, stole bag containing jewelries valued unknown being the property of KaramoDanso .
Subsequently Magistrate Isatou Mbaye Sallahgranted the accused persons bail in the sum of D10,000 each or with two valid Gambiansureties .
