Two Men Stand Accused of Theft

Tairou Jallow, a Guinean national and Musa Baldeh a Gambian on Thursday appeared before Magistrate Touray at the Kanifing Magistrates’Court to answer three (3) counts of theft .The two accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges when the charge sheet was read out for them.

According to the particulars of count one, Jallowand Baldeh in January this year at Kanifing South,committed a felony therein with store breaking and stealing .

The details of count two (2) stated that Jallow and Baldeh in January this year at Kanifing South,broke and entered into the store of Essa Jallowwith the intention to steal.

Jallow and Baldeh also stand accused of stealing car washing machine valued at D19,000 and a wheelbarrow valued at D2000, with the total items valued at D21000.00 being the property of Essa Jallow .

The alleged offense according to court records, was committed on 17th, January of this year at Kanifing South.When the issue of bail was raised, Prosecutor CPL 5750 Jarra had no objection for the accused persons to be granted.Subsequently, Magistrate Touray granted the accused persons bail in the sum of D25,000.00each and with one Gambian surety for each accused person.
