Tourism minister Hamat Bah said he was fined by the police for his straying cattle.

The minister said he paid D15,000 for a dereliction of duty on the part of his herdsman.

He did not reveal where and when the alleged misdemeanor happened but said he had to pay the fine his ministerial position, notwithstanding.

“I paid a fine of D15,000 to the police because my herdsman left the herd somewhere to go and help someone and the cattle scattered before he could return to tend to them. This is a glaring indication that in Barrow’s government, nobody is above the law,” Bah said at Brikama during President Barrow’s joint meeting in the regional capital as he spoke on the need for respect for the rule of law as regards the countrywide road clearing exercise.
