The Minister of Water Resources, Musa Drammeh, has promised the people of Upper River Region (URR) North that the government will provide 110 boreholes in the URR before 2026.

Minister Drammeh was speaking on Sunday at Chamoi Bundaas President Adama Barrow and his delegation reached the URR on day 7 of his Meet-The-People tour.

The water resources minister highlighted that the government had sunk 15 boreholes in the URR North, adding that work will start on another 15 soon.

He pointed out that 50 boreholes will be inaugurated in the area in 2025 and 40 more later.

“I’ve been accompanying the President on the Meet-The-People tour since 2018 but I’ve realized that all the concerns people have been raising about water, roads, and electricity have all lessened thanks to the President’s accomplishments in these areas,” Minister Drammeh pointed out.

He said the government had provided boreholes of mega capacity in URR settlements such as Limbambul, Pirai, KoliBanta, Yorro Bawol, and Sotuma.

“These inaugurated boreholes are a clear manifestation of what the government is doing in the area of water supply. People are free to criticize the government but let it be done in good faith. Developing a country is not a day’s endeavor. It’s gradual. We want to give you the assurance that before 2025, the water problem in the URR will be consigned to history,” he stated.
