The two accused stole jewelry worth over D74,000, says PW1

In a jewelry theft case, Police prosecutor’s witness 1, Pa ModouMbye has said the accused stole jewelry worth over D74,000 at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Mben Faal.

The Police witness Pa Modou Mbye alleged that Fansu Gessehand Ensa Baldeh both entered his shop and stole jewelry of different varieties worth D74,800, noting that he was able to track the accused Fansu Gesseh and Ensa Baldeh through the help of Anti-Crime Police Officers.

PW1, Pa Modou Mbye recalled that he followed Fansu Gessehand Ensa Baldeh to the shop of Pateh Njie, and said the two accused – Fansu Gesseh and Ensa Baldeh stole a gold chain 18kr valued at D6,000, gold chain 14kr valued D11,000, gold finger ring valued D9,000, gold earring valued D10,000, bracelet 92.5 silver valued D8,000, silver dust of 3 grams valued D2,100, two juju finger ring valued D3,000, two small bangles valued D3,000 and two silver finger ring valued D3,400 respectively.

Prosecutor Inspector Inna Jallow applied for an adjournment for the continuation of the testimony of PW1, Pa Modou Mbye and it was granted by Magistrate Faal.

However, a brief charge pressed against Fansu Gesseh and EnsaBaldeh revealed that on or about the 11th of June 2023 at a Secret NightClub at Senegambia in Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of the Gambia, they stole a bag containing jewelry worth D52,100 being properties of Pa Modou Mbye.
