BST Galaxy FC, TMT FC gains promotion to GFF First Division League #Baluwo

BST Galaxy FC and TMT FC have gained promotion to the Gambia Football Federation First Division League #Baluwo.

TMT FC, Immigration, Jam City, and Bombada all registered vital wins while BST Galaxy, Elite United, and GPA all dropped points in an intriguing weekend of matches.

On Saturday, Bombada defeated Medical FC 3-1 in Brikama to continue their quest for a playoff spot as they moved up to 4th with 54 points.

Muhammed Tamba, Lamin Sambou, and Zakaria Darboe got the goals for the home side while Modou Lamin Camara scored a consolation for Medical FC.

Ismael Camara and Alasana Yirajang scored for Jam City to beat Gunjur United 1-2 with Ablie Jassey getting a 62nd-minute consolation. The result means Jam City is now 3rd with 56 points.

 Elsewhere, the fixture between Hart FC and Kuteh Jombuluwas called off as Kuteh failed to turn up for the fixture

TMT FC regained the top spot with a 0-5 thumping away to relegation-threatened B4U Kiang West in Soma. Yahya Ndongscored a brace with a goal each from Lamin Fatty, Sanna Jassey, and Malang Jammeh.

BST Galaxy was forced to a 1-1 draw by Latrikunda United with Lamin Sarr and Ismaila Mbye for either side while Elite United also came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Kanifing East.

Abdoulie S Conteh scored the only goal for Kanifing before Ebrima Jagne equalized for Elite United.

Meanwhile, Jarra West came from 2 nil down to force a 2-2 draw against GPA in Banjul, Saikou Sylla scored twice in the the14th and 74th minutes, with Abdou Corr’s 74th-minute own goal, and Musa Ceesay’s 87th-minute addition to making both teams went home with a point.

Immigration’s 2-1 win over Young Africans in Bakau sent the latter back to the regional league. Alex Gomez gave Young Africans a dream start with a 28th-minute goal but an EbrimaCamara goal, and Lamin Sonko’s 62-minute penalty completed the comeback for the security outfit to confirm the relegation of Young Africans.

 Meanwhile, the game between BK Milan and Tallinding United was abandoned due to the heavy downpour of rain at the Late Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum.

With a game to go, TMT FC and BST Galaxy have taken the two automatic qualification spots as they gained promotion to the top tier. TMT FC is leading the standings with 63 points, and BST Galaxy occupied the 2nd position with 61 points.

Jam City, Elite United, and Bombada respectively occupied the playoff positions while BK Milan is in 6th position with a game in hand against Tallinding United who is just 2 points above the relegation zone.
