Baba F Trawally , the Amir of the Ahmadiyaa Muslim Jamaat in the Gambia, on Saturday, 18th March 2023 visited the GCCI International Trade Fair in Brusubi, Kombo North, West Coast Region.

The just-closed trade fair over the weekend marked the 16th edition of this popular fair in The Gambia and was patronized by some eminences from different backgrounds.

After a conducted tour of the trade fair especially the Ahmadiyaa Jamaat’s stall, the Amir who answered questions posited before him by members of the press explained the purpose of having a stall at the trade fair.

“The purpose is to spread the message of true Islam. Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, he said, is purely a religious organization, religious in the sense that God Almighty has said in the Holy Quran about the coming of a reformer in the latter days whose mission is to unite all religions together to reform the whole of mankind,” he explained.

He said this person is called Mirza Ghulam Ahmad ( Imam Mahdi) and he founded the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat on the 23rd day of March 1889, a purely religious organization that is now spread over 200 countries worldwide.

“The present head or khalifa is Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad who happens to be the fifth successor of the promised Messiah. The Khalifa, Amir continued traveling to every corner of the world to spread the message of peace by addressing in Houses of Parliament, Congresses, and National Assemblies of the big heavyweights of the world like the United States, Great Britain, Germany, and the European Union. You cannot serve God Almighty without ensuring peace and security. Peace is fundamental and vital indeed,” he added.

Amir Trawally justified that it’s not about making profits, saying they are making no profit at the trade fair but rather helping the population to have a clear understanding of Islam. “We have different books on display ranging from the Holy Quran, Muslim prayer book, world crises and the pathway to peace, Gulf crises, and so on. We have the Holy Quran translation in English, French, and three of our local languages Mandinka, Fula, and Wollof. Currently, we are having three teams at our centers who are working on the second edition of the translation of the Holy Quran into our local languages.”

This crusade, Amir went on is very important because they are anticipating that the time will come local languages will be taught in Gambia schools.

Amir Ahmadiyya Jamaat thanked GCCI for the inclusion of the Jamaat since the inception of the international trade Fair. He urged all to always pray for peace as without it nothing is achievable. Many countries cannot hold such kinds of events because of a lack of peace, “so let us safeguard our peace and prayed for it to reign in every part of the world.”
