HE President Adama Barrow, on his visit to the 16th Edition of Trade Fair Gambia International over the weekend, urged traders to trade among themselves to boost the business industry.

Speaking to the press after visiting various stalls at the Trade Fair ground in Turntable, He said the trade fair is an opportunity for all the businesses across the sub-region to trade among themselves, discussed, and network. Adding that, it is not about business alone but the bilateral relationship between the countries within the sub-region.

“We should trade among ourselves because if you look at the trade between Africans the statistics is about 12% and I think that is on the low side. It is time now we trade within ourselves within Africa so that we can grow our economy and develop our continent.

“The good thing is that we are going into large industries and it is the way forward. We have to produce, we have to package we have to add the key value, and our young Gambians and young Africans are very smart, very innovative they are doing very well and I am so impressed with what I have seen and more or less the relationship between this two countries,” HE expressed his excitement.

He pointed out that trading will go a long way in cementing the relationship between the countries and that it all happened because of the organization and leadership.
