The National Hospitality Services USA, Tuesday, donated a cash amount of $5000 to the Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia (ITTOG) through Ousman Kanteh, the Vice President of Operations of the National Hospitality Services and was received by Sheik Tejan Nyang Head of School on behalf of the ITTOG.

Receiving the cash amount on behalf of the institute, Sheik Tejan Nyang thanked Norman Leslie 1st President Legendary Capital of National Hospitality Services for this gesture.

He explained that the gesture from the National Hospitality Services was facilitated by Ousman Kanteh, a Gambian and one of the few Gambian hotel managers in the hospitality industry in the US.

He said Ousman Kanteh has worked tirelessly in different positions before his present position and each time on holiday in The Gambia he does visit the Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia to teach and mentor the students of the institute.

“During his last visit, on behalf of the National Hospitality Services he donated some items to students of the school which include reading and writing materials, stress balls among others, and we dearly appreciated this,” the head of school appreciated.

However, he noted that the cash amount will help to assist some of the students of ITTOG that do not have the privilege and opportunity to pay their school fees due to the dearth of finance which makes them drop out of school before ending their courses.

The Head of the School added that the institute is in talks with the management of the National Hospitality Services for collaboration regarding training, books for students, and equally if they can send personnel to the school to run courses and among other things for the students.

“This is the type of cooperation that we would like to enter into with the National Hospitality Service in the United States which has been very supportive. Obviously, we have been exchanging ideas as to what we do in the hospitality industry and also see how best we can improve on what we are doing,” he disclosed.
