Yusupha Manneh, President of the Brufut Diaspora Association (BDA) has spoken on the development of the Brufut Multi-Purpose Center.

In an interview with The Voice newspaper, the President of the association, Yusupha Manneh said “To secure a good future for the youths of Brufut, we deem it necessary as an association to sponsor the fencing of the football field from the starting to the end because the youths of Brufut don`t have a recreational place.”

He said there are so many things that the youths of Brufut do not have which prompted them to sponsor the fencing of the field and if they have it to themselves they use it as a recreation center for the youth.”

According to him, the field is called a Multipurpose Center because of the proposed facilities which will include a football center, athletics lane, basketball lawn, and training ground, and they have seen progress in the project.

Meanwhile, Manneh added that their first project was in Brufut Primary school where CASAGAMBIA renovated the school and the Diaspora Association provided 100 tables and chairs for classrooms that were not having chairs and tables.

Among other activities, he said the Brufut Development Association also worked on the renovation of the library, renovated the hospital to provide light at the graveyard, also rehabilitated the road of Satebakono Development Committee (SDC) by contributing to the project.

Meanwhile, BDA was officially formed in the year 2017, by natives of Brufut in the diaspora to support the community of Brufut in whatever way they can collaborate with the Village Development Committee (VDC).
