Accused have 12kg and 100grams of cannabis sativa in possession – PW6

The PW6, in the ongoing drug case involving Mario Sambou and Lamin Bangura, has testified that after a thorough search of the house of Thomas Sambou, they found the suspected drug and this prompted him, Munirou Y Darboe (PW6), to arrest the 1st and the 2nd accused, Mario Sambou and Lamin Bangura and take them to Mandinaba Police Station.

Munirou Y Darboe (PW6) is a narcotic officer attached to the Madinaba Police Station, giving his testimony on 5th October 2022 before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Peter Adoh Che continued that

He stated that the two accused were arrested on the 14th of February 2022 in the house of Thomas Sambou, a native of Pirang Village in West Coast Region where they were suspected of illegal drug trafficking.

PW6 said he led a team of the Anti-Crime Officers to search the house of Thomas Sambou of Pirang village where they found bundles of suspected cannabis sativa that belonged to the 1st and the 2nd accused, Mario Sambou and Lamin Bangura

In a similar case but a case presided over by Magistrate Agi Bintou Faal of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, Karamba Bojang, a narcotic officer attached to the Bijilo Scientific Unit also testified in the drug case that involved Mamadi Jammeh.

NCO3 Karamba Bojang (PW2) told the court that the accused, Mamadi Jammeh on the 1st of February 2022 was escorted to his office at Bijilo by Anti-Crime Officers where he (PW2)took a sample of the suspected drug of the accused labeled 068-2022 to the Lab and it was confirmed to be cannabis sativa.

The prosecuting officer, S.Camara asked if the drug sample is shown and will he be able to identify it, he answered yes and that he will be able to identify it through his signature and label written on it.

PW2NCO3 identified the analytical report of the suspected drug of the accused, Mammadi Jammeh before the court.

The analytical report was admitted as an exhibit 3 by Magistrate Agi Bintou Faal while she later adjourned the case to the 2nd November 2022 for the cross-examination of PW3
