Tujereng Sports Committee kickoff Nawettan football competition

Tujereng Sports Committee under the leadership of Fabakary Marenah over the weekend commenced their annual nawettan football jamboree held at the Tujereng football field.

The commencement of the league has witnessed only one encounter between Jah Guide and Sanchaba United played on Sunday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Karamo S. Bojang, the Alkalo of Tujereng advised the youths to engage in sports for a healthy body.

He noted that his office will support the Tujereng Sports Committee to make sports more effective, adding that players should be disciplined to make sports more entertaining for spectators.

Hon. Seedy Njie, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, also called on the Tujereng Sports Committee to exercise maximum restraint in settling disputes in sports.

“I call on the Sports Committee to handle disputes amicably to foster unity in the community. Sport development is the business of the day which should not divide sports lovers and players’’, Hon. Njie stated.

Meanwhile, the occasion was graced by Mr. Karamo S. Bojang, the Alkalo of Tujereng, Hon. Ousman Bojang, Governor of the West Coast Region, and his deputy, Musa B. Susso, Hon. Seedy Njie, deputy speaker of the National Assembly, David Gomez, director of governance, Seedy Lamin Bah, governor of Lower River Region, Lang Tombang Tamba, retired General and former executive member of GAF, Kaddy Bojang, director of Agriculture, West Coast  Region, together with Chiefs and Local Councils.
