Mayor Lowe urges politicians to put Gambia’s interest first

RoheyMalick Lowe, Mayor of Banjul, has called on politicians to put the country’s interest first in whatever they are doing.

She made this comment upon arriving at the Banjul International Airport from her triumph victory at the RAFELA election in Kenya.

According to her, there are lots of positions and opportunities waiting outside, I have seen it and I know Gambia can have it. “Meanwhile, countries are competing left and right our main problem is politics that is disturbing us a lot.”

“I urge Gambians to reduce the politics and see what is happening in the other world, everyone knows that women are vulnerable I’m not only the president of Gambia but also the president of Africa. I am deeply honoured and grateful to all the Gambians who has make this day a successful one,” she said.

“This success is not only for me even the farmer at Dankunkun has contributed to this success. The women have contributed a lot in this success, youths and our security personnel to make sure that Gambia is put forward. I thank my two parents who have stood by me in all the difficult moments, and special thanks to my father the secretary general of the United Democratic Party.

‘’I cannot thank him for what he has done for me, my sincere greetings to his Excellency Adama Barrow for supporting me and I don’t want it to stop I also want when the women get up let them assist them. Our organization is asking for unity from today I am ready for any development and the President will be at the forefront. Let him have pity for the women and help the youths,” she added.

More so, “if I travel and see other countries uniting, I feel sad because I want our own people to adopt the same, I call on all the politicians to put the interest of Gambia in front and it start today. “

Isatou Njie, coordinator of RAFELLA Gambia Chapter said all the secretariat of RAFELLA are present in all the 8 regions, “we went with Mayor Rohey Lowe to Kenya and Allah help us to be victorious. We are gathered here to welcome her on her victory as the President of RAFELLA. This victory means a lot to people of the Gambia that is why we promise her that your arrival will not be easy because you deserve it.”
