Dr. Isatou Touray, others Axe in new cabinet

President Adama Barrow on Wednesday discharged Dr. Isatou Touray and eight ministers in his second term first cabinet appointment.

This was made known in a broadcast, read by Gambia Government Spokesperson, Ebrima G. Sankareh on Wednesday.

The ministers released by the Gambian are namely;Vice President Dr. Isatou Touray, Finance Minister, Mamburay Njie, Minister of Fisheries, Francis Gomez, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Lamin Dibba, Minister of Agriculture, Amie Fabureh, Minister of Defense, Shiekh Omar Faye, Minister of Works, Bai Lamin Jobe, Minister of Energy, Fafa Sanyang and Minister of Interior, Yankuba Sonko.

The press statement also informed the public of separation of duties and creation of three new ministries within the cabinet.

Accordingly, the statement notified that the henceforth the Secretary General and Head of Civil Servants will be overseeing the Personal Management Office, while all correspondences to the President will now be handled by the new Chief of Staff.

The statement also informed the general public that from henceforth the Ministry of Information Communication and Infrastructure (MOIC) will now be split into two ministries and headed by two ministers. The new ministries are Ministry of Information that will be oversees by Mr. Ebrima Sillah and the Ministry of Communication and Digital Infrastructure to be headed by Lamin Queen Jammeh.
