Gunjur Utd extends lead, BK Milan held in GFF week-14 fixtures

Gunjur United have extended their lead at the top of the GFF Second Division League standings, while the Bakau Kachikally team (B.K. Milan) were held by Dibba Oil in their week-14 fixtures played on Wednesday.

The Coastal Town boys, Gunjur United, have extended their lead at the top Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 2 Division League table after defeating Bombada 2-0 in their game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

Haruna Njie’s brace was enough to give Gunjur United the maximum points to extend their lead to three points at the expense of Bombada United.

This is the eighth win registered by Gunjur United, while Bombada conceded their sixth defeat of the season.

This victory maintained Gunjur United at the top of the table with 29 points, while the defeat dropped Bombada to 10th position with 18 points.

Elsewhere, B4U Kiang West were held to a 1-1 draw by Dibba Oil in the game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium.

Lower River Region-based team, B4U Kiang West now recorded their third draws of the season, while the North Bank Region-based team, Dibba Oil registered their fourth draw of the season.

B4U Kiang West overall collected seven wins, three draws and five defeats after 15 games, while Dibba Oil registered four wins, four draws and six defeats after 14 matches.

The draw put B4U Kiang West at 6th position on 24 points, leveling with Immigration at the time of writing, while Dibba Oil occupied 11th position on 16 points.

The Bakau Kachikally Milan team (B.K. Milan) were also to a 1-1 draw By Kanifing East in a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.

The Kachikally-based team now conceded to their fifth draw of the season league, while Eastern Boys, recorded their seventh draw of the season.

BK Milan overall collected seven wins, seven draws and two defeats after 14 matches, while Kanifing East recorded four wins, seven draws and three defeats after 14 games.

The result moved BK Milan to 3rd position on 26 points, leveling with Tallinding United, while Kanifing East occupied 9th position on 19 points.
