GWA concludes 2-day capacity building for wrestling technicians in Farafenni

In its quest to build the capacities of wrestling Stakeholders, the Gambia Wrestling Association (GWA), on Wednesday 16th March 2022, concluded a two-day capacity building for wrestling technicians held at the Farafenni Senior Secondary School Hall, in the North Bank Region.

The training brought together 30 participants across the country, who were put through different modules by the Course Instructor Abdou Badji, assisted by Seedy Chorr and Sheikh Omar Jallow.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, Abdoulie Bojang, desk officer for wrestling at the NSC, described the training as timely while urging the participants to transmit the knowledge gained at their regions.

“We at the National Sports Council are always proud to see National Associations organize meaningful activities for their people.”

Course Instructor Abdou Badji, implored on the participants to be different technicians when they returned back to their respective regions.

“I’m very happy for the GWA and all those who made this happen. Knowledge is power and I have no doubt that all of us learned a lot in these two days. I love the spirit I saw here because everyone is willing to learn. I’m open to coming back anytime my service is needed as Gambia and Senegal are one people. I believe all of you will be different technicians and I want to see you guys make a difference in your different regions from this training,” he stressed.

The training is part of the EU funded project “promoting investment in Culture, Creative Arts and Traditional Sports to enhance Resilience against Climate Change in Local Communities”.

Meanwhile, certificates were given to all participants at the end of the training.
