Lawmakers responsible for youth unemployment, says Yusupha Jaiteh

Yusupha Jaiteh has accused the National Assembly members for being responsible for staggering youths’ unemployment and rampant corruption in the country.

Mr Jaiteh was speaking to The Voice about his book titled “Hakilo” that detailed the reasons of number of the country’s youths embarking on the perilous journey to European countries for better living.

“I decided to take the book to the National Assembly in 2020 for scrutiny because the book was scrutinized by scholars and for over nine good years, I was making research for the successful of this book, and the NAMs decided to throw the book in the dust,” he said.

Because of that “I have lost trust and confidence in the NAMs because the book is one of the ways to discourage the youths from embarking on the journey so if our own lawmakers choose to abandon the book there is no hope that the illegal trade will stop any time soon. All the funds we have from other countries and loans that they signed from Europe and corruption is caused by the members of parliament. They did not benefit the country rather to destroy our country. I want to tell them that the country cannot go without knowledge and this people don’t want the progress of this country,” he stated.

According to him “now that their term has ended and nothing is done, I want them to know that I’m going to vote for the ones who intend to come for second term.”
