JAAJOYI Development Association launched

The communities of Jokadou Dasilami and Barianding Saturday launched JAAJOYI Development Association, a Community Based Organisation.

The launching of the association took place in Jokadu Dasilami, North Bank Region.

The association was launch under a theme: Bringing Sustainable Development to our communities with particular focus on Education, Health and Agriculture.  This is with objective of mobilising resources, knowledge, perspective and experiences to support the community development initiative.

President of the association, Baba Leigh described the launching as historic as it brought together communities of Dasilami and Barianding to foster greater understanding among the population.

He thanked the diaspora community for conceiving the idea in 2018 and actualized it in 2019 to promote oneness in shaping sustainable development, noting that the association provided support to July 7th Windstorm that affects 131 households.

The Association registered significant achievements and  includes provision of 75 sets of furniture to Dasilami Arabic School and a total of D468, 500 cash support to July 7th Windstorm of 131 households.  The association donated D169,000 and NorA Friends of Norway D299, 500.

He dilated further on the association activities since establishment which included rehabilitation of 4 classrooms block at Dasilami Arabic school and rehabilitated of Dasilami masjid.

Bakary Kamu Fofana alkalo of Dasilami thanked people of the area for their support to the development of the communities and said the naming of JAAJOYI is a rice farm that becomes a productive area.

Deputising for Education Director,  Alieu A Ndow cluster monitor, representing Diaspora Community Madam Loli Fofana, Seedy Manneh Community Development Assistant of Dasilami Ward and Malamin IL Bojang Chairman of Kerewan Area Council all delivered statements at the launching.
