Gamtel FC registers 2nd victory, Falcons suffers 3rd loss in GFF 1st Division League

Gamtel FC registered their second victory of the season after defeating Falcons FC 2-1 in their week-9 fixture of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League played at the Late Ousman Saho Football field on Sunday.

Following their goalless statement in the first period, the league leaders Falcons FC started the second half impressively as they took the lead through Baboucarr Camara’s strike in the 46th minute.

Gamtel FC came back into the game with two quick goals after Muhammed Saine leveled for the Telecom giants in the 62nd minute, before Dawda Sissoho scored the winner in the 75th minute to help Gamtel come from behind to collect the maximum points.

The Telecommunication boys, Gamtel now recorded their third win of the season, while Falcons FC who are currently topping the table conceded their third loss of the league so far.

Coach Ebou Jarra and his charges moved to 7th position with 10 points, while the Blue Armed, Falcons FC maintained the top spot of the league with 16 points.

Meanwhile at the time of going to press yesterday, Monday, Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) were taking on Samger at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum.

The Ferry boys, GPA were sitting 7th position with 10 points, while the Academy boys, Samger, occupied in second-from-bottom-(15th) position with 5 points.
