Abuko Utd wins, GPF moves 2nd in Women’s League

Abuko United recorded their second victory of the season, while reigning champions, The Gambia Police Force (GPF) moved to 2nd position on the table standings after heavily winning in their week-4 fixtures of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s 1st Division League played at the Lives Your Dream Football Field in Basori over the weekend.

Abuko United defeated Brikama United 2-1 in a game played at Basori.

Awa K. Darboe opened Abuko United score line from the spot in the 31st minute. Mariama Badjie leveled for Brikama United in the 44th minute before going for the break.

Sara Sanneh came on with the winner for Abuko United in the 68 minutes of the second half.

The victory was the first recorded by Abuko United, while Brikama United continued with their search for their first win after conceding to their third defeats of the season.

The Abuko-based team, overall collected one win, two draws and one defeat, while Brikama United conceded their third defeat, one draw and no win in four games.

Abuko United occupy 4th position with 5 points leveled with Gambia Armed Forces, while Brikama United still languish at rock-bottom-(8th) position with 1 point after four games.

Elsewhere, defending champions, The Gambia Police Force (GPF) demolished Immigration 6-0 in the late match played at Basori.

The reigning champions recorded their second win of the season while Immigration FC conceded to their second loss of the season.

The Gambia Police Force collected two wins, one draw and one defeat, while Immigration FC conceded two defeats, draws and no single victory yet.

The GPF formally Interior moved to 2nd position with 7 points, while Immigration FC sit second from bottom (7th) position with 2 points after 4 games.

Berewuleng were held to a goalless draw by The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) in the earlier game played at the Lives Your Dreams Football Field in Basori.

Brikama-based team, Berewuleng FC, was forced to their third draw of the season while the Soldiers conceded to their second draw of the season.

Berewuleng overall collected one win, three draws and one loss, while The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) collected one win, two draws and one defeat.

Berewuleng dropped to 3rd position with 6 points, one point behind The Gambia Armed Forces who occupied 5th position with 5 points leveling with Abuko United after four games.
