Scorpions cancels yesterday’s arrival due to logistical reasons

The senior national team (Scorpions) who was due to return home yesterday, Monday following their elimination at the quarterfinals stage of the African Cup of Nations by the host, Cameroon had their arrival cancelled due to logistical reasons.

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) announced on Monday that: “there is new development with regards to the arrival of the senior national football team (Scorpions) due to logistical reasons.”

“Consequently, a new arrival time will be communicated to the public in due course. While we advise everyone to stand down for the time being, we deeply apologise for any inconveniences caused,” Football House further said.

Meanwhile, earlier on Sunday, the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) announced that the gallant Scorpions and the Gambian delegation were set to arrive from Cameroon yesterday, Monday after their elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations by the host, Cameroon at the quarterfinal stage.

It was said that the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) and relevant authorities were working on logistics for the Scorpions welcome back home at 3pm before the official cancellation
