President Adama Barrow has reacted to United Democratic Party’s election petition saying even if the election is repeated he will defeat his former political godfather, Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, massively.

His reaction comes after the Supreme Court struck out a legal challenge brought against him by the United Democratic Party.

Speaking to group of his National People’s Party supporters at State House, President Barrow said: “I swear even if the election is repeated, we will defeat UDP more than the defeat we did to them.”

“So even they go to the Ecowas Court of preview of council they cannot challenge that; you cannot go against the decision of people,” he added.

According to Barrow, he knew that he was going to win the December 4 presidential election saying he is a peaceful man who Gambians need.

“I know Gambians have decided because Gambians need peace and I am a peaceful man. The Gambians development and development is happening and Gambians want progress and stability. And all what I mentioned here are what Gambians need and I have all these elements,” he told the meeting.

The President also thanked Gambians for showing their constitutional commitment in coming out in their numbers to vote in the last presidential election, while he urged Gambians to unite and never listen to people who intend to divide the country.

“I thank everybody, unity is strength, if you unite you become stronger and I have seen that in this past election but the hypocrite will be talking, telling you the president is no more talking about (you), the president didn’t give you job, but don’t listen to them. Let’s unite and be one people and never listen to dividers,” he said.
