President Adama Barrow, the leader of the National People’s Party has promised to construct good roads in Faji-Kunda during his second term of office in a bid to ease transportation within Kanifing Municipal Council.

Speaking at a rally in Faji Kunda, Barrow said: “my government is not the same as other governments because we are here to work and implement what we preach unlike others that just talk without implementing what they speak.

“The roads are destroyed but before the election ends, I will discuss with National Road Authority because we have the money to renovate the roads that are already constructed so I will talk to them so that they can see how to renovate them,” he said.

“When I took power, I am the one that constructed this place up to Abuko so I want to tell Faji-Kunda people that I am about to construct a road from Sankung Sillah junction to connect it to Abuko so the project is signed by OIC road project and that will ease transportation within Faji-Kunda,” the president said.

He assured Faji Kunda people of good quality roads in Kanifing Municipal Council that no one ever sees in the Gambia. Adding that his government wants KMC to be a modern city and Faji Kunda is part of KMC.

“I will surely start the work when I finish the work at Banjul. “The entire Gambia knows that I am the owner of the roads you selected me so I will do what you guys want and I will follow the direction that you people want. Any sickness you people have I will cure it I am different from those people that just talk but will not work,” he added.

He went on “the Councilor mentions the issue of the hospital, I, therefore, assured the people of Faji Kunda that I discussed with my minister they said they have already visited it and have taken a decision on the 1st of January, 2022 they will take stand for the hospital.”
