Barrow promises to turn Jarra Soma into industrial town

President Adama Barrow has promised to turn Jarra Soma in Lower River Region into an industrial town as he campaigned and called on the electorates to vote for him in the December presidential election.

Speaking at the campaign in Soma, he said: “I am talking to my contractor and I know whatever I told him he will do it. My next industrial zone where factories will be built, I have identified it and it will be built in Jarra Soma.”

“Thus, you have a big opportunity coming on your doors. Why I want to build factories here is because you people are in the centre of The Gambia and that’s why I built the biggest energy station here because connection is easier here and I will enable job opportunity for the youths of this place and other parts of the country,” he said.

“You the people of Jarra Soma and LRR know that these developments I brought here are just a small development out of my bigger projects I intend for this country. I want to assure you that the proper works will start after the December 4 election, which if you people elect me to be your president again and elect NPP National Assembly members you will have  massive developments,” he assured.

Meanwhile, he said: “I told Kebba Madi Bojang that this year’s election will be decided by the youths and I know the youths will not vote for an old man who in his 70s. In the world what we know and have seen is a son should inherit a father but not a father inheriting a son.”

“These people on the 4th December I will lay them down in hot ashes and it will be clear and fair wrestling. You know in 2016, when I came here, I told you that just sit and relax because the wrestling is between age mates and for that the wrestling competition will be cleared. But this year’s wrestling is between a father and a son. And is between a new wrestler and an old wrestler and I want to retire him on December 4 and if I am wrestling him down, I will make sure I don’t hurt him because he is old now,” he also said.
