Alhaji Saihou Denton appointed to World Customs Organization

Alhaji Saihou Denton, director of finance and accounting of Gambia Revenue Authority has been appointed to World Customs Organization (WCO).

In his congratulatory message, Gambia Revenue Authority Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe said: “I am very happy for the appointment of Mr Alhaji Saihou Denton as chairman of both West and Central Africa Finance Committee of WCO in Brussel.”

He said Mr Denton deserve those positions as he is competent, trustworthy, careful and professional, adding that “undoubtedly, he will make Gambia proud and will do the job to the best of his ability. My Staff are always given opportunity in both local and international positions and all of them make me proud at all time.”

When contacted Mr Saihou Denton about his new appointment, he confirmed the two appointments, as he acknowledged and expressed total appreciation over it.

“Of course, I was very elated after receiving confirmation”.  “It was a honoured been a Gambian and flag bearer of the Gambia and Gambia Revenue Authority GRA for my inputs to be recognised at that international level to occupy that position of chairmanship at WCO which is unprecedented”

He confirmed that this are positions that had never been occupied by African before, therefore Gambian getting this positions, is a big achievement, trust and confidence bestow on him.

GRA Financial Director assured that he will live up to expectation in ensuring that he provides the right direction and sound advice as needed.

According to Denton, getting these positions required hard work and determination.

He expressed appreciation with the level of commitment of his senior directors and assures to continue encourage them to be hard working and professional in their work, more opportunities are ahead.

Mr. Denton was quick to commend the leadership of the Gambia Revenue Authority under Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe for sending the senior staff to the right forum to represent the GRA. These positions had never been occupying by African before b
