SIC launched NBR Regional chapter to coordinate activities and religious affairs

The Executive Members of Supreme Islamic Council are intensifying efforts to better structure it present at districts and regional levels.

As part of galvanizing to ensure representation, the team held meetings in all seven districts and discussed the mandate of Supreme Islamic Council in promoting solidarity and unity among Muslims Ummah.

The Regional launching was attended by President of Supreme Islamic Council and some Executive members in Kerewan, North Bank Region.

Commenting on the event, Alhaji Essa Darboe President of Supreme Islamic Council described the roles play by council in promoting religious tolerance and unity.

He noted that the launched of 15 members Regional Executive would help to coordinate the activities of Supreme Islamic Council.

He stated that the constitution of Supreme Islamic Council advocates empowering and establishing structures to help promote the teaching of Islam. The tour helped executive members to discuss on pertinent issues and by extension meet each other and as well complement efforts of the council in the drive responding to the need of Muslims.

He noted that oneness among Muslims is crucial and that is why district and regional structures were established to help members to effectively support in promoting the teaching and learning of Islam.

Supreme Islamic Council President thanked scholars and Majalis in the region for their efforts in galvanising all means in propagating the teaching of Islam and inculcate good morale in their doing.

The President therefore tasked district and regional executives to be proactive and vigilant to reach out to all Imams and scholars. As part of strengthen grassroots connections, each district has 15 members committee to enhance information flow and build ownership.

Malamin IL Bojang Chairman of Kerewan Area Council thanks Supreme Islamic Council members for their unflinching support in strengthening Islamic education.

He hailed Alhaji Essa Darboe for his support to education sector, citing strengthen of AMANA Education Secretariat in mainstreaming of Arabic in to maintain stream education curriculum which has contributed to advancement of Islamic education.

Chairman Bojang said Imams and Religious Scholars contribute a lot in society, by inculcating good moral virtues to promote religious tolerance, peace and stability.

He uses the moment to call for massive resource mobilization to augment living conditions of Imams and religious to enable them effectively transfer appropriate knowledges.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Momodou Basiru Darboe of Badibou Darusalam was selected to serve as President of North Bank Region Supreme Islamic Council chapter. Mr. Darboe thanked  people of the region for the trust bestowed on him and other executive members for the region and assured them of living to expectation.
