‘Referees are not treating us equally’: Jamcity coach complains

Jamcity coach, Ismaila Jammeh, has blamed referees for biasness after his team end a match with in goalless with Gunjur United on Wednesday at the late Ousman Saho pitch.

“Referees are not treating us in the same way they do to the teams coming from KMC and BCC,” disappointed coach Jammeh complained as he spoke to sports reporters after the game.

He said the referee was unfair but urged them to continue doing the same when his side meets those teams from KMC and BCC and that those teams are always given better advantage.

The game was not the liveliest of games as both sides were content to keep the ball in the middle of the park. The chance of the first half came in the 21st minutes when Jam City’s Muhammed Kanteh was played through, but he wasted too much time on the ball before he was close down by the Gunjur defense.

Meanwhile, Jam City was awarded a penalty in the 76th minutes of play. Modou Lamin Badjie stepped up to take the penalty, he targeted the left bottom keeper but keeper SaineyTrawally stretched himself to palm it away.

“Most of the players even in training ground are always afraid to face Sainey in spot kicks and that was why I was not even nervous when the penalty was awarded,” Gunjur assistant coach Fabakary Jatta said.

The performance of the game did not reflect the position of the teams as Jam City were on 3rd position with 29 points and 8 wins before the game while Gunjur on 4th  position with 26 points and 7 wins.

It was a game of not many chances, and the few that came in the mercy of strikers were poorly squandered. Both Coaches promised that they will work on their finishing and would come with difference in their next game.
