Coronavirus Deaths Pass 100 Mark

Coronavirus deaths in Gambia have passed 100 mark after a 61-year-old were announced death.

“1 new COVID-19 related death registered, bringing the total deaths to 103 – a case-fatality ratio of 3.0%. The deceased, 61 at death, was a known as COVID-19 patient admitted at one of the designated treatment centres. He was also battling at least one comorbid condition,” the Ministry disclosed.

Meanwhile, 29 new cases were registered bringing the total number of cases to 3,405 and “this represents a 16.3% test positivity rate (29 out of 178 total tests performed).”

“The median age of the new cases is 30 years (range: 10 to 64 years) 178 new laboratory test results received from MRCG and NPHL of these, 14 new tests returned indeterminant. 106 new COVID-19 patients recovered and got discharged.”
