Marie Sock, independent presidential aspirant candidate for 2021 Presidential Election

Marie Sock, an independent aspirant presidential candidate for 2021 Presidential Election has set ten cardinal pillars to work on to move The Gambia forward.

The ten cardinal pillars included the economy of the country, education, medical health, youth and women empowerment, price regulations, agriculture development, infrastructures, crime, job creation, and increment of minimum wages in The Gambia.

She disclosed this at a press conference held in her office located at Bijilo, West Coast Region Saturday where she officially announced her presidential aspiration for the 2021 presidential election.

She made it clear that she did not come out to join but wants to be endorsed because “if I’m endorsed as an independent candidate. I can break that barrier of political divide,” she said.

According to her, she cannot attain the country’s sustainable development goals alone; therefore, she wants support and backing of everyone especially the women and youth so that they will work collectively to develop the nation.

She reiterated that she will work or the above ten fundamental areas to bring development to the doorstep of the masses.

She added that her team has developed a roadmap to guide her government to implement the ten cardinal pillarss if she leads the country.

Ms Sock unveiled that if she get the support to the State House all the ten cardinal pillars designed in her roadmap will be implemented as expected.

She noted that her coming out as aspiring presidential candidate is enable youths to start having voices. “I want the young girls to start speaking up,” she said.

Without backing of the opposition political leaders, she said, she is ready to contest alone as she said there are sufficient women and youth behind her to make a big difference, adding she felt considering the women and youths behind her having alliance with her will be a step in the right direction.

However, she called on all Gambians women and youth in particular to support her so as to help in building the future of the country.
