IMVF TEKKI FII provides sanitary materials for 35 communities to control spread of COVID19

IMVF TEKKI FII EU funded project joined North Bank Regional taskforce on COVID 19 distributed hand washing materials, detergents and bleach for 35 communities in the North Bank Region.

The project focused on youth’s development through providing financing support to youths on Agro enterprise development in partnership with National Youths Council.

The materials were handed over to the regional taskforce on COVID19 for onwards distribution to 35 communities.

The presentation of materials was followed by sensitization and also IMVF installed COVID 19 billboard along Senegambia Bridge toward Farafenni high way.

In his statements  in  Bambali, Ndawen, Kani Kunda Suba of Sabach Sanjal and Yallal TankonJala,  Sheriffo Mboge Regional Program Officer for YEP/NYC NBR underscored the significance of reaching to youths with hand washing tanks to complement government efforts in the fight against COVID19.

He urged the youths to be vigilant and ensure that proper measures are management to control the spread of COVID.

He noted that the proclamation by President Adama Barrow, citing  adhere to social distancing, hand washing and stop hand shaking would be advantage  to  control the spread of the virus.

For his part, Governor Ebrima KS Dampha said the support to 35 communities would have great impact, noting that the fight against COVID19 is a collective responsibility and support would greatly strengthen regional taskforce efforts on COVID19.

According to him, the sensitization will help to dispel misconception surrounding COVID19 and promote positive behaviour changes to adopt WHO guidelines and Ministry of Health in controlling the spread of virus.

Governor Dampha also urged on youths to be vigilant and take up the opportunities to address irregular migration and contribute to national development.

Lamin Saidy Regional Disaster Management Coordinator described donation timely and calls for behaviour changes and also calls on institutions and philanthropists to support communities with food and others materials.

Chief Malick Bouy, of Sabach Sanjal stressed the need to intensify sensitization and challenge beneficiaries to maintain hand washing.

He said people should adhere to WHO guidelines and Ministry of health. Chief Bouye hailed the donor for youth’s development and empowerment.

Mabakary Saidykhan, Mansireh Ndaw of alkalolu of Kani Kunda Suba and Ndawen noted that the fight against COVID19 should be taken seriously as the virus is deadly. The duos calls on the people have to seek information from health care service providers and behaviour change on COVID 19.

Kebba Jobe, community leader of Bambali assured of their fullest support to the fight against COVID19. The elder calls on government to provide them with good road and support hippos that poised threat to rice production

He said social distancing should be uphold and people’s should ensure that emergency laws are respected.
