Deputy spokesperson for APRC has urged politicians to stop castigating each other on the media saying it will not change anything for development in the country.
Dodou Jah was speaking to The Voice in an exclusive interview on Wednesday said: “looking at the leaders of political parties many a times when they are engaged in interview with media is like attacking one another or responding to people criticism which will not bring any good but castigations.”
Mr Jah said despite preaching as important, he added heroically is exist but practically its lacking and the campaign strategy political parties are applying in this country definitely does not portray peace.
“We should always let bygone be bygone, we should be nationalist and know that the country is bigger than our political parties and our individual person interest,” he added.
He explained that if the leaders of the political parties take the lead in the ways of addressing their members on the vision they have for their party and how to disseminate messages within their party militants is going to be very important.
People listen to political leaders more and sometimes key messages they give is what they abide by therefore they should ambassadors of peace, he said.
“We should do away with ethnicity, we should be nationalities love our country and love our people, politics shouldn’t make us enemies we are Gambians. However I will also challenge the stakeholders not stop at organizing workshop, but they should also mechanize or put on strategies to make follow up processes to make sure that the people that are train have definitely observe what they have been trained and they will take the next step to deliver that,” he said.
Jah added: “as I always said the president is the head of state but he does not own the country, the country belongs to the people so we should be peace loving, law abiding and to make sure that we have a Gambia to build.”
