Daru Foday Ba communty cleanses new school building

The community of Daru Foday Ba on Tuesday turn out in numbers to clear the new school site and off load 70 combine furniture donated by MRCG Holland. The turn out demosntrated commuity resolved to showcase their support to education sector and in particular on the construction of six classroom block, toilet, staff quarter and kitchen.

Speaking at the site, Alagie Kujabi Head Teacher of Daru Foday Ba Lower BAsic School of Jokadou in the north bank region  noted that community participation and involement on the clearing of new site and offloading of furniture is commendedable.  He thanks MRC Holland through Regional Education Directroate region 3 in complementing Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in strengthening quality teaching and learning.

Kebba Barrow chairman of School Management Committee noted that construction of new school building and staff quarter would help boost the morale of teachers and pupils.  He assured that the community would continue to provide much needed spport to the school to enhance learning and contribute to the attainment of qaulity education.

Chairman Bojang said the school started with ECD with support Child and Environment Development the Gambia an NGO and since then more efforts were shown to upgrade the school to Lower Basic School to address travelling difficulty for children.

Kumba Jobe of Mothers Club said more efforts are in place to boost enrolment and retention of children in school. She said the provision of school has contributed to address long distance travel by children.
